Quality and Safety

Quality Improvement (QI) Activities

At our hospital, Quality Improvement (QI) activities are essential for ensuring safety and enhancing the quality of medical care. The QI Center was established to integrate and sustain QI activities across the entire hospital.

To maintain safety and enhance the quality of care, we continuously measure and evaluate our medical services and other patient-related services. By quantifying and objectively understanding these metrics, we can identify issues and potential risks. Through thorough analysis, we clarify these problems and implement effective improvement measures strategically.
For more details, please refer to QI Center.

Medical Safety Management

At our hospital, we prioritize patient safety by adhering to the “Shonan Kamakura General Hospital Medical Safety Management Guidelines.” We have established a dedicated Medical Safety Management Department to oversee safety protocols across the organization. Additionally, we have implemented a comprehensive medical safety management system to ensure our entire organization operates effectively and efficiently.
For more details, please refer to Medical Safety Management.

Infection Control Management

Our hospital is dedicated to preventing the outbreak and spread of infectious diseases within our facility. To achieve this, we have established an Infection Control Team (ICT) composed of a diverse group of professionals, including physicians, nurses, pharmacists, clinical laboratory technicians, and administrative staff.

Emergency Medical Care

We accept all ambulance requests 24/7.

  • Our policy is to ensure that every ambulance request is met, no matter the time or day.
  • Since relocating in 2010, our emergency department has expanded five-fold.
  • When it’s challenging to determine the appropriate department for patient admission, our General Medicine or General Surgery departments will always step in.
  • We prioritize emergency patients for hospital beds.
  • To further meet the needs of local emergency medical care, we opened a new Trauma and Emergency Medical Center in April 2022.
